The Challenge

A national recruiting effort with no way to connect the dots.

Caterpillar's Global Dealer Learning group runs one of the largest technician recruiting programs in the industry. They attend SkillsUSA and FFA events nationwide, meeting thousands of students who are already interested in skilled trades careers.

But the gap between the event and the dealer was a dead zone. Candidates who expressed interest at a national event had no clear path to the local dealer who could actually hire them. Information was captured on paper or not at all.

Follow-up depended on someone remembering to pass a name along. Qualified candidates were falling through the gap between a national conversation and a local opportunity.
